NY Cake Couture was founded by Michele Kelly & Anthony Smith, both known for creating fashionable, fun cake designs. Pastry chefs and confection artists first and foremost, they are also baking & pastry arts instructors at New York City College of Technology.
To date, Michele has over 15 years experience as a pastry chef, progressing to the executive level.
She has won several awards for her desserts and chocolate work, earned from the superior training she received studying abroad in France.
Over the years she has showcased her talent for design creativity, customized theme cakes and wedding cakes. Michelle specializes in sugarpaste, gumpaste, pastillage and chocolate.
Anthony has been the Executive Pastry Chef at The Cosmopolitan Club since 1994. He credits the position to a prestigious apprenticeship he held in France. He has won over a dozen awards and medals during his career.
